Item 01137 Olympic Pasteurmatic System The Pasteurmatic System consists of two machines, a washer and a pasteurizer. Parts are loaded into stainless steel open wire baskets that are removed from the machines for convenient loading. A choice of baskets is available, depending on whether you are processing respiratory parts or anesthesia breathing circuit parts. The operator places the loaded baskets on the power hoist of the washer. A small amount of detergent (Pasteur Sol®, available from Olympic Medical) is placed in the detergent dispenser. At the press of a button, the hoist lowers the baskets into the washer and automatically closes the lid. The operator turns the control dial to start the automatic 30-minute wash cycle. After the washing is completed, the operator raises the power hoist, baskets, and lid by pressing a button. The baskets are then transferred to the pasteurizer and lowered into the tank of water, thermostatically maintained at 167°F (75°C). The timer is set to start the 30-minute pasteurizing cycle. The baskets rotate several times to ensure that all interior surfaces of tubes and other hollow parts are filled completely with hot water for effective pasteurization. During washing, vertical rotation forces water through the lumens of tubes and other hollow parts. During pasteurization, it forces the air out.
