Item 01382 Hill-Rom Model 1060 Retractable Hospital Bed This is the bed the nursing home industry has been waiting for. Some features are retractibility, automatic contour, Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg, cardiac chair position, easy access side rail controls, control lockouts, stand-up storage feature, able to roll at any height and can fit through most doorways, strong box frame construction and more. Note that as the patient's head and back is raised that the bed retracts and the patient's head stays the same distance from the wall (or headboard) that it was when the patient was lying flat. This keeps the lighting and the bedside cabinet in the same relative position to the patient. This allows the patient to better utilize the reading light and have a shorter distance to reach objects on the bedside cabinet. When the bed retracted there is about 15 inches more space at the foot end of the bed. This allows visitors to put chairs at the foot end and is also helpful in getting equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers around the bed.
